End of Year Concert 2022

We are producing a very different End of Year Show this year!

It will be held on Sunday 20 November at Tom Mann Theatre in Surry Hills. The theatre has 156 tiered seating, a deep wide stage, full light and sound production and is equipped with an upstairs green room and change room area for performers.

The plan is to have a dedicated Piano Recital at 10:30am and two (2) feature concerts at 1:00pm and 3:30pm. Each feature concert will run for approx. 75 – 90 minutes and have entirely different performances. Students will be grouped into either the 1:00pm or 3:30pm concert.

We never had the chance to organise and produce this type of show at the end of 2020 (when we wanted to celebrate our 10 year school anniversary). This year feels like a good comeback year to make it happen.

Believe us when we say, it’s going to be a very different and a very special show the students won’t forget.

Please note due to the nature of this concert it’s recommended that students have been learning their instrument for at least one year.

Once forms are collated registrations will be assessed and successful students will be assigned to which act is most suitable to be involved in. Students will be required to attend additional group rehearsals to prepare for the concert, these will be held in Term 4 closer to the concert date.

*Video submission is required to be involved in the Piano Recital

Registrations close on 28 August (or when capacity is reached).

WHO CAN BE INVOLVED?
As much as we’d love for every single student to be involved, it may prove challenging if students have only just started learning their instrument. It’s recommended to have been taking private lessons for at least a year.

Our vision (as painted on the walls of both our studios) has been to enrich people with the connective power of music, which is why all acts involved in the concert will be done as a group number.

The following is a list of initial group acts we plan on featuring:

FOR VOCAL STUDENTS
We will be offering the opportunity to perform in small vocal groups PLUS Glee Kids Singing Group for 5-7yrs and 8-12yrs and Glee Teens

FOR DRUM STUDENTS
We will be putting together our very first Drumming Ensemble / Band: A rare opportunity to join a percussion ensemble that is unlike anything you’ve experienced before

FOR GUITAR / BASS / UKULELE STUDENTS
Join our debut Group Guitar Ensembles – music will be arranged to cater for the various levels of guitar students

FOR WOODWIND AND BRASS STUDENTS
There will be Woodwind/Brass collaborative groups: We’ll be looking to team you up with our existing bands or form smaller instrumental groups with other instruments

FOR PIANO STUDENTS
Depending on current level students will be performing in either the piano recital and/or join the small collaborative instrumental groups. 1-2min audition video to be submitted in order to be part of the dedicated piano recital.

FOR VIOLIN STUDENTS
We plan on also creating collaborative groups of instrumental students or if there’s enough students, we’ll also have a dedicated string ensemble piece to work on and perform.

AGENDA TIME LINE
  • 11 August: Expression of Interest Form sent to all students/families
  • 28 August: Deadline for submission of forms
